Project Spotlight: Smart Warehousing Expansion

By Jessica Bell, Project Engineer with Nexus 5 Group

Project: Smart Warehousing, 7301 W 80th St. Overland Park, KS 66204

Client: Overland Park Real Estate, Heather Venable

Architect: Gastinger Walker Architects, Kaysha Rios

Project Size/Type: 5,786 SF Tenant Finish

Project Schedule: (3) months starting October 2022

Smart Warehousing completed phase one of their build out in 2021, but quickly outgrew their 14,000 SF space and found themselves needing to expand. Fortunately, there was available square footage next to their current space in the Edison District Building and Smart Warehousing jumped on the opportunity to accommodate their growth. Once the lease was signed and drawings were finalized, Nexus 5 Group got to work on constructing the new 5,700 SF of space.

Their new space consists of a new reception area featuring several unique design pieces and a large, stunning chandelier. Other scopes included new casework, polished concrete, doors and hardware, flooring, painting, acoustical ceilings, fire sprinkler, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
