For the last 7 years, Nexus 5 Group has been an active member with the Apartment Association of Kansas City (AAKC). During that time, Jessica Bell, Senior Project Engineer, has obtained her Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS) and Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) designations as well as completed the Lyceum program through the AAKC and National Apartment Association (NAA). She has been involved in everything from lunches to trade shows, golf tournaments, community impact events, and educational classes.
As of January 2023, Jessica was elected to the Board of Directors of the AAKC.
Jessica had previously served on the Supplier Partner Board for three years and is now a director of the governing board. The Board of Directors manages and directs all aspects of the AAKC. The board consists of sixteen members including twelve multi-family members and four supplier partners.

The AAKC was established in 1974 to serve the apartment industry along with the National Apartment Association and the Kansas and Missouri associations. It provides legislative insight on local, state, and national levels. The AAKC has 1,116 members with more than 114,000 apartment units consisting of property owners, developers, managers, and member communities. Also included are 255 Supplier Partners who provide products and services to the apartment industry.
